Messy Church is church… but not as you might expect!
It’s a fun, welcoming, all-ages gathering where creativity, laughter, faith, and food all come together. Whether you’ve been to church your whole life or never stepped inside before, Messy Church is for you.
We meet on the last Sunday of every month at St David’s Church, Glebe Road, Loughor, SA4 6SR, and everyone is welcome – children, parents, grandparents, carers, friends, and anyone who’s curious.
What is Messy Church?
Messy Church is a relaxed, joyful way of exploring the Christian faith together as a family. There’s no need to sit still or be quiet, and there’s definitely no pressure to know all the answers.
Instead, you’ll find:

🎉 Lots of laughter and noise
✝️ Simple Bible stories and faith explored together
🍽️ A shared meal to finish
It’s church that’s lively, colourful, and just a little bit chaotic – in the best possible way!
What Happens at Messy Church?
🖌️ Creative Time
When you arrive at St David’s, you’ll be greeted by friendly faces and invited to jump straight in. Around the room you’ll find different activity stations, such as:
Crafts, painting, and making
Building and hands-on challenges
Games and sensory or messy play
All the activities link to a Bible theme, but you’re free to choose what you’d like to try and move around at your own pace.
📖 Celebration Time
After the activities, we gather together for a short, interactive celebration. This might include:
A Bible story told in a fun, visual way
Songs with actions
Simple prayers that everyone can join in
It’s relaxed, child-friendly, and designed so everyone can feel comfortable and included.
🍕 Eating Together
We finish by sharing a meal together around tables. This is a really special part of Messy Church – a chance to chat, laugh, and build friendships over food in a warm, relaxed setting.
